However, he also had a talent for acting, winning a small role in the film “Pat and Mike” in 1951.
His baseball career saw him play for teams like the Brooklyn Dodgers and Chicago Cubs, but it was in Hollywood where he found lasting success. Best known for his role as Lucas McCain in the TV series “The Rifleman,” Connors became a household name in the late 1950s.
